CNSLP Strategy Session, Halifax, September
12-13, 2001
CNSLP held a strategic planning session in Halifax on Sept 12-13,
2001, that brought together a representative cross-section of
CNSLP participants to focus on future directions and priorities.
The session was facilitated by Tony Nash of Inter-Connex
Consulting Inc.
Session Outcomes and Documents
Throughout the strategy session, diverse perspectives and expertise
were brought to bear on key issues affecting CNSLP. By the end
of the session, participants were agreed on the following:
CNSLP has
a core purpose and mission;
there is
considerable consensus that CNSLP move forward, and expand
its scope;
we have
created a long-term opportunity with CNSLP;
there is
consensus that CNSLP will continue with a national strategy
for all-inclusive licensing for academic institutions, but
with new cost-sharing models that recognize program diversity
and institutional size;
CNSLP is
going to be able to report how the current products are
being used;
there is
consensus that what CNSLP has done is successful;
there is
still a great deal to do.
The following documents capture
the outcomes of the strategy session, and outline draft Key
Results Areas and Strategic Directions, for information and
discussion.
Feedback to
these drafts will inform deliberations of the CNSLP Steering
Committee, who will meet November 21, 2001.
